We understand that not everyone uses Facebook, and while we regularly keep whānau and friends up to date with our latest news on Facebook, we are now adding those same messages here as we don't want anyone missing out.
For any important notices, we will also continue to send these home on paper.

A reminder: During the winter Terms (Term 2-3) we operate shorter days, from 9am to 2.40pm. We do this because the weather is often inclement. Instead of trying to get hold of parents / whānau to let you know we have shortened lunch and therefore having an early finish, the decision to permanently operate on shorter days during the winter months was made a number of years ago.
We are able to do this by shortening our lunch from 60 mins to 40 mins.

Kia ora kia orana whānau whānui,
with the move to Phase 3 of the Omicron response, there are some changes to close contact protocols.
From Friday 25 February, with Phase 3 of the Omicron response, the key change is that it is only confirmed cases and their household contacts who need to self-isolate. Everyone else, including those who may have had close contact with the case but aren’t in the household, must continue to monitor really closely for any symptoms of COVID-19.
This means that if your child has tested positive, they must remain home for the 10 days. If they are a close contact of a positive case in your household, they should also stay at home.
All other students who are not positive and do not have a positive case at home should come to school.
For any tamariki that we sent home today from Room 8, we ask that you remain home on Friday and return on Monday 28 February to allow us to transition from Phase 2 to Phase 3.
For any other students, they should continue to come to school unless they experience any covid symptoms, even if there has been a positive case with a student in their class.
We thank you for your continued support as we navigate omicron and this change in phases.

Yaye!!! Our school bucket hats have arrived!
Hats that have been paid for will be given to children tomorrow.
Deposit your money into the school account. (Reference: Child's name & Hat) or pay $10 to the office.
Ms Tereu is wearing a large (60cm). It takes a lot to contain her level of awesomeness.
We have temporarily been allowing caps but our ideal is a bucket hat which offers better sun protection. Our new sun safe policy is NO hat, NO play (stay in the shade).
